CHOMP! 2017 : Reap what you sow
Callout for workshop and event proposals
Deadline for submitting proposals: February 19, 2017, 11:59pm
CHOMP! is an annual event series organized by the Midnight Kitchen.
The theme this year is “Reap What You Sow,” focusing on collective and self care in radical communities! Events will take place in the second half of March, 2017.
Community and individual care is about ensuring the day-to-day and long-term survival of our families, our friends, our comrades, and ourselves. Care work is a necessary and complementary part of resistance to the systems that oppress us and our loved ones. And it is also some of the most grueling, slow-paced, and labour-intensive work that we do!
We want to celebrate the ways that we practice radical community and self care, and critically examine how it connects to struggles against oppression, and for self-determination and liberation.
We are in search of workshop proposals and event ideas to take place during CHOMP! 2017.
In the past, events have included panels on invisibilized labour in activist communities, workshops on racism and food politics, community dinners, cooking skillshares and more!
We will be giving stipends for all panels, workshops, etc that are selected. We can compensate for travel costs for groups coming in from out of town.
Please get in touch with us with your ideas, by February 19, 11:59pm, at: firstname.lastname@example.org
